Posted: 11/9/2015

Thorek Memorial Hospital was honored with an "A" grade in the Fall 2015 update to the Hospital Safety Score, which rates how well hospitals protect patients from accidents, errors, injuries and infections.

The Hospital Safety Score is compiled under the guidance of the nation's leading experts on patient safety and is administered by The Leapfrog Group, an independent nonprofit organization. Scores are released twice each year to give the public information they can use to protect themselves and their families.

"We are proud to be recognized by the LeapFrog Group as one of the safest hospitals in the country to receive care," said Ned Budd, CEO of Thorek Memorial Hospital. "Our physicians and staff maintain a diligent focus every day on keeping our patients safe."

Leapfrog assigned A, B, C, D and F grades to more than 2,500 U.S. hospitals based on 28 measures of publicly available safety data. A full analysis of the methodology used is available on the Hospital Safety Score website. To see Thorek's full score, visit www.hospitalsafetyscore.org.
